Improvement

When we first filmed and edited our movie there were a lot of mistakes. The lighting was not right as we took really long to film one of the scenes and therefore it became dark and that did ruined the mise-en-scene. We also did not get good comments on our titles as it was boring and we had black background with white writing. We also ended up changing a lot of things within the scene.

Changes include: The initial idea of our movie got changed as we lost another group member. Therefore it was up to me and Oraldo to change our movie ideas and film and edit on our own. We changed the script and synopsis.

The movie now is about a teenage boy (Oraldo) who owes a drug dealer (Dahir) money. He goes out of his way to live a life of crime and steals money in every way possible. He ends up following a girl who comes out of college into a dark alley way and steals her purse.

The background we used for our titles changed to different shots of money as that is what our movie revolves around and the title of the movie remained the same (money matters). We changed a lot of things within our script and got rid of the voice over as it was no longer needed. The story is clear enough for the audience to understand it without a voice over.

At the end we ended up with better comments from our peers as well as our teachers.

180 degree rule - Dark Knight

The 180° rule is a basic guideline in film making that states that two characters (or other elements) in the same scene should always have the same left/right relationship to each other. If the camera passes over the imaginary axis connecting the two subjects, it is called crossing the line. The new shot, from the opposite side, is known as areverse angle.

In Dark Night (interrogation scene) the 180° rule gets broken. The Joker talks about breaking rules, this explains the fact that the 180 degree rule is broken. The Joker mentions "the only wat to live in this world is without rules" highlighting the fact that the 180 degree rule is broken.

The 180 degree rule is only broken in rare cases such as this one

Evaluation Activity 4

For my evaluation task I prepared a collage of my target audience, what kinds of tastes they might have, where they would shop, what music they would listen to and what they might wear.
The audience for my media product was initially anyone over the age of 15. But I believe the actual target audience would be anyone aged between 15-24. This is the specific audience most interested in this my media product.
